Arabidopsis is a plant being used by labs offering undergraduates summer internships in plant Genomics10 week paid summer internships for visiting undergraduate students, secondary science teachers, and faculty at primarily undergraduate-serving colleges and universities. The goal of the program is to provide mentored research experiences in plant genomics and build relationships in the greater scientific community for visiting participants and the whole project team.

Trichome biology is a focus for  labs offering summer internships in plant GenomicsPlant Genomics Researchers at Michigan State University collaborate on a summer training program for students enrolled in undergraduate studies in biology, chemistry, chemical engineering and computational sciences. The ten week program is designed to give students experience in the theory and practice of genomics and includes a wide variety of projects and participating laboratories. While the main emphasis is on gaining laboratory experience, the ten week program includes informal lectures from faculty and social activities.

Tomato is a plant being used by labs offering summer internships in plant GenomicsThe application process is now closed and we are excited to welcome our 2013 PlantGenomcs@MSU summer REU participants. This eighth annual Summer internship program on the campus of Michigan State University will run from May 20th to July 26th 2013.

Students will conduct research in the laboratory or at the computer alongside their mentors, participate in group meetings and activities, and attend weekly informal seminars where participants and faculty will interact. Emphasis is placed on career preparation and development. At the end of the program, students will present research project summaries of their work to all the project teams.
